History of the Olympics and London's bid for hosting the 2012 Olympics

London had won the bid for hosting the 2012 Olympics. The 2012 Olympics will be hosted in Olympic Park, London, England. The Olympic Park contains the Olympic Stadium, in which the 2012 Olympics will be hosted.

At first, nine cities submitted bids to hold the 2012 Olympic Games. Then, only five cities remained: London, Madrid, Moscow, New York, and Paris. London was announced as the winner of the bid, and will hold the 2012 Summer Olympics.
